salvaged 2008 sportster

Hello everyone,
Im currently without a motorcycle, but have had a couple before. This time around im looking for something different and also looking for a small project for the summer, and ive considered making a bobber. Just a few miles away there is a 2008 sportster 883 with 500 miles, salvaged title. Has a few dings and scratches and one or two of the lights are nocked off. If i stopped next to it at a stoplight however, i wouldn't even notice unless i looked hard. They are asking 3600, i thought about offering 3000 cash, but im unsure whether this is a decent bargain or not, and i haven't been able to find information anywhere else as this is basically the only salvaged one i see for sale right now. Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Sounds like a good project bike but sounds too expensive for a Salvage Title 883.

In Connecticut we just bought a complete Shovelhead for $3500 that has been sitting for a few years (future project bike for a series of articles in American Iron Magazine). I expect you can find a complete and running Evo Sportster for as little as $2500 with good title.
