Default Please help !!! Where's the oil???

Have a '95 883 ---- Cam Gear started to seize up which broke the fly key for timing, got a new key, lined up cams, put it back together. Put 3 quarts of oil in it valve covers off to make sure oiling---no oil. Pulled filter, turned over, hardly any oil going to filter inlet hole, got a differant pump put 3 quatrs back in it, turned over, filled oil filter and oil went down. Now I added another quart that also went down added 2 more quarts thats a total of 6 quarts no oil to push rods. Pumps not scavaging or is there seals that I need to replace? Is there any way tp purge the scavenge line?
